The Talent Show video will be posted here when it is available. An amazing night for the performers, emcees and stage hands! Thank you to the volunteers and Sarah Roberts for coordinating this year's show!

Field Day is Friday, June 9th (rain date June 13th). Please note, volunteers were not requested for Field Day and there is no volunteer signup.

TAKE ACTION

GradNite Boxer Bingo!

Thank you to all who donated! We are no longer collecting boxers for GradNite but you can still make a donation HERE.

GradNite is a safe, fun, alcohol and drug free all-night party for the seniors the night they graduate Duxbury High School organized by volunteers. This event has become a tradition students look forward to attending. In order for this event to happen, they need the support of the entire Duxbury community with donations and volunteering their time.

Alden PTA and the Alden community help with this annual tradition by organizing the donations for BOXER BINGO! They need lots of boxers in all sizes to give as prizes for the Boxer Bingo winners at GradNite. This is a student favorites and fun for all! The kids wear the boxers over their clothes all night as part of the fun (some even wear them as headbands!) Please CLICK HERE to donate using this Amazon WishList or VENMO @DuxburyGradNite and note BOXER BINGO in the comments.

Birthday Book ordering is closed for this school year.

Does your student have a May or summer birthday? Honor your student's birthday by donating a Birthday Book to the Alden Library! Please click HERE to order. $20 (under PTA Forms)

Passport Club
The last after school Passport Club meeting is MAY 23rd. Registered Passport Club participants should submit their map checks HERE before this meeting.

Teacher Appreciation Week
Please help us show our appreciation for the Alden School staff during Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week by sending in Fan Mail (notes, pictures, cards) for the Alden Staff the week of May 1 - May 5. Thank you to all who donated snacks with the Amazon Wish List! Staff will be enjoying these treats all week. Please consider purchasing an item from your teacher's Amazon Wish List as a way to show your appreciation, too. Click HERE for Amazon Wish Lists.
*
Please note, Teacher Appreciation Week is celebrated the first "full week" in May. We opted to go with the first full Mon - Fri week so we could provide lunch on the early release day. Many schools are celebrating May 8 - May 12 as this is the first Sun - Sat full week in May.

Help with Outdoor Classroom Cleanup

Please help get the Alden School Outdoor Classroom ready for spring on Saturday, May 6th at 10:00 AM. The Outdoor Classroom (located on the trail behind Alden School) is a place for children to connect to the natural world and learn from what nature has to teach us. All families are invited to help Mrs. Hanlon and Mrs. Miele with this effort! The space needs some trimming, clipping, planting and raking to get ready for students to visit this spring. CLICK HERE to volunteer!

PTA Meeting - May 10th at 1:00 at Alden School

Please join us for the last Alden PTA meeting of the year. We will be summarizing the events of this year and electing next year's Board members. Want to get involved next year? Come to the meeting to learn about opportunities to help next year or email contact@aldenpta.org

STEM @ HOME KIT
Alden PTA was excited to be awarded a $1,000 grant from the National PTA for their STEM + Families program. The funds were used to purchase materials for students to do a STEM activity at home. We hope this activity will engage families and inspire students to explore STEM at home. Please keep an eye out for the "Tiny Catapult" kit coming home in your student's backpack and encourage your student to follow the instructions provided to build their kit. All students who email a picture of themselves and their catapult to contact@aldenpta.org by May 12th will be entered into a raffle to win a STEM prize!
